From our first day back in 1992, our animal hospital’s team has grown from a two-person veterinary clinic with just a receptionist and a groomer to a full-service pet hospital providing the greater Springfield, Missouri area with veterinary services including medical and surgical care, and required vaccinations

Our History

Deerfield Veterinary Hospital has proudly served the community since opening its doors in 1992. Along with the growth of our veterinary clinic’s facilities, our pet health team has expanded over the years to include a skilled and compassionate group of veterinarians and staff. The veterinarians at Deerfield Veterinary Hospital are dedicated to providing the highest quality pet health care available.

Our facility is a full-service pet hospital. Our team of veterinarians and veterinary staff provide medical and surgical care as well as boarding and bathing services for your cat and dog. We have on-site lab diagnostics and blood testing, allowing pre-surgical and senior screenings to take place within our pet hospital. We provide both X-ray and ultrasound, including the latest and safest anesthetics available for your pet during surgery.

Our veterinarians and veterinary staff are caring people who love working with your pets. We are an AAHA-accredited pet hospital with veterinarians who specialize in canine and feline preventive health maintenance and veterinary surgery. We are also pet parents who understand and celebrate the incredible bond between you and your beloved family members.

Veterinarian

Dr. Meagan Sims

Dr. Meagan, a Midland Texas native, graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. She was a small animal general practitioner in Texas for 4 years prior to moving to Springfield. She also practiced as a local relief veterinarian for a year before joining the team at Deerfield Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Meagan lives with her two dogs: Asa, a Sheltie, and Flex, a Pitbull. Dr. Meagan enjoys several aspects of veterinary medicine, but is especially passionate about senior pet care, skin disease, dental disease, and strengthening the human-animal bond. When not in the clinic, she enjoys experiencing the beautiful Missouri landscapes while hiking and kayaking, as well as crafting and sewing.
Veterinarian

Dr. Sara Lee

Dr. Sara graduated from veterinary school in 2014 from the University of Missouri. As a young child, she had always wanted to be a veterinarian, so she could help people take care of their pets. Dr. Sara originally started out as an equine (horse) vet for her first two years of practice. She has two Shelties, Jackson and Mabel, and a guinea pig named Otis. Dr. Sara enjoys meeting new clients and loves to educate clients on how to take the best care of their pets. Her favorite areas of practice include internal medicine, ultrasound, nutrition. In her free time, she enjoys running marathons, trail running, and biking.
Veterinarian

Dr. Camille Webb-Blaski

Dr. Camille Webb-Blaski joined Deerfield Veterinary Hospital in July of 2023. She graduated from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS with a BS in Biology in 2013 and then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Dr. Webb-Blaski enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but her special interests include surgery, preventative medicine, and dermatology. Dr. Webb-Blaski and her husband share a home with their son, 2 dogs and a cat. During her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, painting and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
Veterinarian

Dr. Kayla Horton

Dr. Kayla Horton joined the Deerfield Veterinary Hospital team in July of 2023. Dr. Horton graduated from Missouri State University in 2019 where she completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology & Biotechnology with a minor in Chemistry. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University in 2023. Dr. Horton enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but her special interests include soft tissue surgery & nutrition. Dr. Horton is happily married to her husband, David. They love Springfield and are glad to call it home. They share their home with 1 dog and 1 cat. In their downtime, they love spending time with their family and friends, being outdoors, going to the lake, fishing, camping, and hiking. She also enjoys gardening and loves to eat sushi.

Amanda Wake

Amanda became a team member of the Deerfield staff in October 2004. She came to us originally as an intern from Glendale High School, volunteering, and helping the technicians to get the first steps of caring for animals. Amanda started at Deerfield to gain overall knowledge of veterinary medicine and is our Practice Manager. Amanda has an associate’s in business. Amanda & her husband have two boys who keep them busy and on the go. Amanda has three dogs of her own, Kevin a Boxer, Atlas & Haze, both German Shorthair Pointers and a cat, Jordan-Jordie-Junior. In her past time, she likes to take her dogs on walks, to lakes to swim and to the creek to play fetch. They play together at their house in Ozark where they keep her in line and always guessing what’s going to happen next

Julie Broene

Julie has been at Deerfield since we greeted our first client in July of 1992. She started helping our hospital grow with her grooming expertise and developed quite a following. In the summer of 2000, we asked Julie to put her clippers down and help us practice medicine and surgery. Born in rural Clever, MO, Julie was raised on a dairy farm and developed common-sense wisdom for helping animals. She now uses this knowledge to manage every aspect of our practice. Julie has 4 grandchildren who keep her on her toes and on the go.

Melissa Mchaffie

Melissa joined the Deerfield team in the summer of 2009. She graduated in 2004 from Murray State University in Kentucky as a Registered Veterinary Technician and has been involved with veterinary medicine ever since. Melissa has an Australian Shepherd, Bonnie and a cat named Rosee.

Shelbi Parks

Shelbi came to Deerfield in 2018 and is proud to be part of this growing team. Shelbi is a Republic High graduate and is currently going through the Penn Foster veterinary technician program to become an RVT. Shelbi & her husband live in small town in SWMO with their sassy 2-year-old daughter, 3 dogs, Charleigh, Maverick, and Lili, along with their kitty J.J. In her free time, she enjoys thrifting, reading a good book, watching bad reality tv (Love is Blind), and napping.

Jordan Loftis

Jordan joined the Deerfield staff in 2018, you may have seen her at the front desk, and she is our lead customer service representative. Jordan grew up in Suffolk, Virginia where her passion for animals started with horses at 6 years old. She worked on farms until she moved into her first veterinary practice job in 2017 in Virginia as an Animal Care Assistant/Technician. She started her educational career with a passion for veterinary medicine and obtained her Associates of Science from Tidewater Community College. In June of 2018 she moved to Missouri for school where she graduated with her bachelor’s in animal science from Missouri State University. She has two Beagle Mix fur sons Budders and Bucky.

Morgan Steward

Morgan has been in the veterinary field, following in her mom’s footsteps, since 2015 and has happily been with the Deerfield team since 2018. Morgan and her husband live in Springfield. They share their home with their son who keeps them busy along with her dog, Samantha and cat, Penny. In her free time, she enjoys reading, relaxing in cute coffee shops, and spending time with her family. Morgan is currently undergoing her certification to obtain her Registered Veterinary Technician degree where she hopes to utilize all her skills in daily practice

Courtney Crews

Courtney started with us in 2021. She previously worked in retail management for 10 years prior to switching career paths to animal care. She worked for 2 years at another veterinary hospital as a technician before joining the Deerfield team as a Customer Service Representative. Currently, she is in school with Penn Foster studying to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician. In her free time Courtney enjoys playing video games, tabletop RPGs, hiking, and taking road trips. Currently Courtney has 2 pets, a cat named Lucy & a dog named Inara.

Anna Conn

Anna is currently a senior at Missouri State University studying animal science and equine science. Anna intends to attend veterinary school in 2026, with plans of becoming a mixed animal practitioner. Anna joined the Deerfield team in December 2023 as a veterinary technician. Anna is proudly on the Missouri States Equestrian Team and really enjoys spending her free time with horses. Anna has two cats, Bentley and Sawyer.

Jaidan Garner

Jaidan became a part of the Deerfield team in August 2024. After graduating high school in 2021, Jaidan couldn’t wait to start working in the veterinary field. Jaidan is originally from a small town but moved to Springfield in 2021 with her husband, where she started her career in a veterinary clinic as a kennel technician and soon found her passion as a veterinary technician. Jaidan loves caring for animals and helping improve the lives of our patients and clients ever day. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and two dogs, Ellie Mae and Nova. Jaidan also has a cat, Tux! Jaidan’s hobbies include hanging out with her friends, going to concerts and watching the best shows on Netflix

Rico Seal

Rico is from Noble, Oklahoma where he lived until 2018. While there he worked at a wildlife rehab center with a focus on songbirds and raptors. He moved to Springfield in 2020 and graduated from Evangel University in 2022. He then moved to Columbia, MO with his wife and worked at a vet clinic there for 2 years. He moved back to Springfield in May of 2024.In his free time, he enjoys board games, going to the movies with his wife, and birdwatching. He also enjoys going on hikes with his dog, Lilli, and has two cats, Dez and Pax.

Melissa Williams

Melissa started working at Deerfield at the end of April 2024. She enjoys watching the dogs play during Puppy Play Day and assisting the doctors and technicians with appointments. In her past time, her hobbies include spending time with her fiancé and two stepchildren and training dogs. She looks forward to growing her knowledge of veterinary medicine and meeting your furry family members.

Hannah Triggs

Hannah joined the Deerfield team in July of 2024. Hannah has always loved caring for animals from a young age and enjoys finding ways to best serve our clients and patients at Deerfield. Hannah enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking as well as serving in her church. Hannah has a heart for giant breed dogs in hopes to one day share her home with a mastiff.
